First Sunday of Advent Communications Toolkit

In order to support Catholic parishes and dioceses during this pandemic year, the Steier Group will be publishing a series of Advent and Christmas Guides for you to share with those you serve. These free weekly guides include ideas on how to celebrate each Sunday of Advent, as well as the day’s scripture readings and highlights from the liturgy.

If you’d like to sign up to receive the guides, please do so here.

We invite you to share these weekly Advent Guides with members of your parish, as a way to further engage your people and help everyone prepare for Christ’s coming on Christmas. Here are a few suggestions to help you distribute this resource to your parishioners:

[HEADLINE] A Resource for You: Weekly Advent Guides

As you know, <> is committed to helping our parish families celebrate and worship in new and creative ways during the pandemic. As we look ahead to the holy season of Advent, we recognize that many people will continue celebrating Sunday Mass from home. To assist you in your personal and family prayer, we will be sharing weekly prayer guides for each Sunday of Advent.

Each guide includes suggestions on how to celebrate Mass at home with your family, as well as that day’s scripture readings and highlights from the liturgy. We encourage you to download and use these guides to assist with your prayer, as together we prepare for the coming of Christ this Christmas.

This First Sunday of Advent, we reflect on Advent as a time of waiting, watching and preparing for three important events: the celebration of Christmas, for Jesus’ second coming, and for his coming into our hearts each day. We hope you find this week’s guide helpful!
