Grounded in the spirit of faith and family, the Newman Center at Truman State University has served the Catholic collegiate community in Kirksville, Missouri, since 1955. The center has helped countless young adults find community and spiritual support in all stages of faith. In 2007, the Newman Center was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. Without a permanent home, it moved from temporary location to temporary location. The center partnered with the Steier Group to run a capital campaign to rebuild a Catholic center to meet the needs of the students at Truman State and the community of Kirksville at large. The new center was dedicated in 2008, providing students and the community a beautiful new worship space on campus.
