Church of the Magdalen in Wichita, Kansas, hired the Steier Group to run a campaign planning study and capital campaign to retire debt and repair the roof of this new church in east Wichita. This was the third successive campaign, so the parish and many leaders were concerned about volunteer fatigue. The Steier Group designed and led a campaign that far exceeded the campaign goal. More importantly, the campaign strengthened the practice and understanding of stewardship within the parish. The pastor was initially concerned about conducting a fundraising campaign in this stewardship diocese, but the Steier Group designed a campaign plan that reached beyond the inner circle of givers and brought new families into the practice of stewardship. In 2022, Magdalen partnered with the Steier Group for a second campaign – raising more than $4.8 million.
