St. Joseph Catholic Church and School

The need is there: At St. Joseph Catholic Church in Des Moines, Iowa, an addition to the campus is necessary to alleviate overbooked facilities, but the parish had not yet pursued a plan to get there. But when church leadership received notice that an upcoming three-year diocesan campaign would create a conflict for starting a parish campaign at a later date, they moved to begin a timeline in conjunction with the effort for the Diocese of Des Moines. The collaborative Together We Building Our Future: The St. Joseph Centennial Campaign was conceived in partnership with the Steier Group, and the firm provided expertise on leveraging and designing the dual campaign to most benefit the parish. For the parish, goals include a new gymnasium, new preschool and middle school classrooms and the acquisition of additional property.

This plan led to great success for the parish, and St. Joseph Catholic Church was able to raise over $1.2 million, well above the Steier Group low-end projection for this community. The success gives the parish the opportunity to grow offerings and programs ahead of what the community had anticipated; a true blessing for all.
