St. Augustine Indian Mission School in Winnebago, Nebraska, was founded by St. Katherine Drexel in 1909 and is unique in its service to the Native American students of the Archdiocese of Omaha. A troubling engineering study revealed that the current school building was not structurally sound. In fact, the building was never intended for educational use, the result being that the school needs a new building to serve the student body. The Steier Group worked with the local school community with our hands-on approach to customize the Building on a Saint’s Foundation Capital Campaign. The Steier Group’s accomplished grant writers were an additional asset for this project, bringing in over $193,000 in grants alone, and the campaign raised 248% of the projected goal.
