THE CHALLENGE
Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School in Medford, Oregon, faced several pressing needs. Deferred maintenance on the parish and school buildings had accumulated, requiring immediate attention. With an increasing demand for more functional spaces, the aging facilities no longer met the needs of the vibrant parish community. The school gym required remodeling to support a growing number of school activities, and the parish needed a new facility to accommodate its diverse ministries better. The parish embarked on a major construction project, the Sacred Heart Faith Formation Center, with a vision to modernize and enhance its facilities. However, unforeseen challenges, including rising construction costs and delays, jeopardized the initial funding plans. By the time the project was nearing completion, additional funds were needed. The Sacred Heart Faith Formation Center was on track to open by September 2023, but the remaining goals—furnishing the new facility, renovating the school gym, and establishing a maintenance fund—still needed to be addressed.
THE VISION
The parish and school leadership recognized the critical need to address these challenges through a well-structured capital campaign. The campaign aimed to:
- Furnish the Faith Formation Center.
- Renovate the school gymnasium.
- Create a fund for building maintenance.
THE SOLUTION
