Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church

THE CHALLENGE

With a centennial anniversary in sight for this historic parish, leadership acknowledged that several issues needed to be addressed in order for this vibrant and growing church and school community to thrive. These needs included repairs, retiring debt and building a scholarship endowment fund. To fundraise for such varied goals would require a tailored communication strategy and engaged volunteers. Additionally, the parish was creating a development strategy and leadership sought professional consultation to maximize these efforts.

THE VISION

Relying on the centennial anniversary as the central motivating factor for addressing the parish needs, messaging needed to be timely and well communicated. Issues to be addressed through the campaign would include:
• Eliminating school building debt.
• Restoring, repairing and updating the church building.
• Growing the church and school scholarship endowments.

THE SOLUTION

Beginning with a campaign planning study, Nativity parish leadership worked with the Steier Group team to build a comprehensive strategy to reach all segments of the community.  Focusing on in-person connection, the campaign recruited 16 additional volunteers to reach prospective donors. Personal appeals led to increased participation with 82% of funding secured in these personal visits. Through the Built on Tradition Hope for the Future Capital Campaign, the community joined together in support of the many goals for the church and school, exceeding planning study projections and building a strong foundation for the next hundred years for Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and School.
