THE CHALLENGE
Holy Family Catholic Church is the largest parish in Rockford, Illinois, and a pillar of the Catholic community. After many years of stability and growth, an upheaval with three different pastors in a short period of time had made things tough on this faith family.
THE VISION
Led by Fr. Phillip Kaim, a popular, beloved pastor, Holy Family partnered with the Steier Group for the Honoring Our Past … Building Our Future Capital Campaign. Goals included:
- Addressing deferred maintenance items like new sinks and plumbing for the school, roof and skylight repairs for the Meilinger Center, a new boiler and air conditioning unit for the the Harte Center and new electrical controls for the church.
- Constructing a new fellowship hall, which will become the social center of the parish campus.
- Repairing the parking lot.
- Enhancing the worship space.
THE SOLUTION
Holding a capital campaign under a popular pastor proved to be just what the community needed to join together. The campaign pumped new life and energy into the parish.
