St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church
St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church has served the people of the Forney, Texas, area for more than 125 years. The parish thrives as the spiritual home to more than 3,000 people but faced a space problem because of growth. Its current facilities did not meet the parish’s needs, including the desire to worship under a single roof. The size of the current church required St. Martin of Tours to use the parish hall for the busier Masses. That presented a challenge when hosting events at the hall after Mass. St. Martin of Tours partnered with the Steier Group on a capital campaign for a larger church. The Steier Group’s communication strategy included videos, Facebook and email blasts to provide campaign updates, building plan descriptions and other information. This approach increased Facebook engagement and brought awareness to online giving. The Steier Group approach also emphasized the importance of volunteers. More than two dozen volunteer families were recruited and assisted with personal appeals and other important tasks. The Steier strategies, combined with hard work by the parish, led to a successful campaign that will help St. Martin of Tours reach its goal of building a new church home.
