St. Luke Catholic Church and School
St. Luke Catholic Church in Plain, Wisconsin, has deep roots in the community. The parish school also has a long history, with its building constructed 100 years ago. Decades of wear and tear took a toll on the school, which was in dire need of repairs. It also required other upgrades. The parish knew it was time to address the school’s essential needs, so it partnered with the Steier Group on the Preserve Our Past, Build Our Future Capital Campaign. Projects included restoring the school’s roof and exterior stonework, updating classrooms and upgrading safety and security. The Steier Group ran the campaign in tandem with one for St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, which is 8 miles away and served by the same pastor. Though they share a priest, each parish has its own character, community and project needs. The Steier Group used its proven campaign strategies at both parishes, but adapted them as necessary to fit each client’s specific needs. The approach worked and the tandem campaigns succeeded. In St. Luke’s case, that meant the parish can fund its important school projects, ensuring that Catholic education remains strong in the community for decades to come.
