A small parish with large goals, the Sacred Heart Parish in Norfolk, Nebraska, conducted a capital campaign focused on paying off parish debt, upgrading school technology, purchasing new textbooks, demolishing the old school and increasing the financial aid endowment. This campaign gained momentum and surpassed its goal because of the commitment by the pastor and the large group of volunteers who answered the call to help. The campaign was a true grass-roots effort, with 80 percent of the pledges between $100 and $15,000. In total, the parish partnered with the Steier Group for two campaigns that combined to raise more than $6.2 million.
