Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, Iowa, had been planning a new, handicap-accessible church for nearly a decade when parish leadership partnered with the Steier Group to run a capital campaign. Parishioners loved the old church building, home to countless baptisms, First Communions, confirmations and weddings since 1928. But it was beyond renovation. In addition to being inaccessible for those with physical disabilities, the building contained asbestos and mold. It was important to get the whole parish behind the construction of a new church. Campaign communications focused on making a clear case for replacement of the beloved old church, providing the facts and answering frequently asked questions. During the campaign, support for a new church quickly grew. This led to a successful capital campaign and, now, a new church for the Catholics of Osage.
