Known as a close-knit community, Our Lady of Lourdes-St. Adalbert Parish and School in Omaha, Nebraska, recognized the need to keep the parish strong for future generations. Discussion began about preserving the church and school. Following a facility assessment, the parish decided to partner with the Steier Group on a major fundraising campaign to address restoration and upgrades centered on Our Lady of Lourdes church and school. Projects included masonry restoration, restroom upgrades, window replacement, sound system upgrades and a church elevator to improve accessibility. Communication is key in a capital campaign and the Steier Group’s strategy included FAQs, videos, lay testimonials and bulletin inserts to educate the more than 1,140 potential donors about the campaign. Led by active volunteers and strong leaders, the community rallied around the campaign goals. The Honoring Our Past…Preserving Our Future Capital Campaign has raised over $1.8 million toward helping the parish achieve its vision.
