In 1991, Mater Dei Latin Mass Parish became the first apostolate in North America opened by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP). This parish in Irving, Texas, spent 17 years holding Mass in the chapel of the Carmelite Monastery before moving to a small, temporary home. With the Dallas-Fort Worth area continuing to grow, it was time to build a beautiful, permanent home for the Mater Dei faith family. Parish leadership hired the Steier Group to lead the Building a Beautiful Church for Mary Capital Campaign. Many parish families stepped up to volunteer and the close-knit community had higher participation than a typical campaign. This led to a successful fundraising effort which will lay the ground work for Mater Dei Latin Mass Parish to begin constructing its beautiful new church.
