John Paul II Catholic School in Morganfield, Kentucky, has been a great service to Catholics in the area. The school serves the Catholic community of Union County with students from each of the six county parishes attending school at JP II. The initial campaign to fund the school succeeded but still left the community with debt. Six years later, it was time to conduct a second campaign, this time to lessen the debt burden for the school. A debt reduction capital campaign can be a challenge, but this particular effort was complex with six parishes taking on a campaign to support the school. A strong communications plan promoted the school as the continuation of Catholic education in the county and helped develop support across all six parishes. The result was a successful capital campaign that will reduce the debt for John Paul II Catholic School.
