The Diocese of Sioux City conducted a $20 million endowment capital campaign to raise funds for Catholic schools, Catholic Charities, adult formation and multicultural ministries. The all-parish effort, which sought both cash and estate gifts, surpassed its fundraising goal by receiving more than $21.5 million in gifts and pledges. This fundraising capital campaign gained momentum because of the commitment by Cardinal DiNardo to conduct a bishop’s caravan, personally visiting with parishioners on-site in each deanery to discuss the needs of the diocese and to answer questions. Parishioners in the diocese rallied behind Cardinal DiNardo’s leadership and the Steier Group’s fundraising model.
