The Chaminade Centennial Campaign secured one of the largest lead gifts ever in the history of St. Louis secondary schools and helped to build the 80,000-square-foot Skip Viragh Center for the Arts. The campaign raised more than $31 million to build the arts center, endow the building and make improvements to athletic facilities. The campaign also featured a unique element in that it included the McBride Scholarship Campaign that raised scholarship money for students with gifts from alumni of the now-closed McBride High School. This scholarship fund ensured that the spirit of McBride High School would live on, and allowed McBride alumni the opportunity to thank the Chaminade community for their “adoption.”
