What is #GivingTuesdayNow?
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive support for communities and nonprofits around the world.

Does this mean there won’t be a typical GivingTuesday in December?
#GivingTuesdayNow is a specific emergency event in response to COVID-19. It doesn’t change plans for the traditional GivingTuesday event that will happen on December 1, 2020 (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving). You may choose to participate in both.

What does it cost to participate in #GivingTuesdayNow?
There are no costs to participate in #GivingTuesdayNow. This is a free and open movement to unleash generosity in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. If you are currently using a digital fundraising platform, there may be costs associated with the tool you choose to use – check with your technology providers.

Do we have to register to participate?
As a nonprofit or community organization, there’s no need to register and everyone can participate. You can decide how much you’d like to do during this day of giving and what type of activity you’d like to promote. Some organizations host fundraising events, while others use the opportunity to reach out to their community with special content, or to thank their donors.

How can I participate in #GivingTuesdayNow?
First, identify your most urgent need. Is there a specific ministry or program that needs support? Do you need help meeting your day to day operating expenses? Be honest and transparent in your messaging. People want to help!
