Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and School

For nearly a century, Catholic education has been a core ministry for Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa, Ohio. That ministry faced a major challenge when flooding damaged a parish school building that housed kindergarten through second grade. Four classrooms in the basement were deemed uninhabitable. Also, the building needed significant renovations to bring it up to code and to meet accessibility and education standards. The parish began looking for solutions. The church chose to partner with the Steier Group on a capital campaign to construct an eight-classroom addition. The addition would allow students and faculty to work under one roof, providing a safe, secure environment and efficient school operation. The Steier Group’s campaign preparation included developing a communications plan, recruiting campaign leadership and evaluating donors. The firm reviewed available giving records to establish specific gift request amounts for all prospects, ranging from $100 to $125,000. This personalized approach helped the parish raise more than $3.5 million toward constructing an addition that will serve students for decades to come.
