Stephen Center is a homeless shelter and addiction recovery center serving the Omaha, Nebraska, community. The Steier Group assisted in two capital campaigns for the center, both of which included a combination of low-income tax credit financing and private donations. The first fundraising campaign, conducted in 2005, had a private goal that enabled Stephen Center to build its addiction recovery building. This building was home to the HERO program, which serves low-income individuals in overcoming alcohol/drug addiction. The second fundraising campaign, conducted in 2012, raised funds to construct a new emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing for those transitioning out of homelessness.
