The Regina Catholic Education Center, a kindergarten-through-12th-grade Catholic school in Iowa City, Iowa, was looking for a way to enhance students’ experience while building upon a strong foundation that dated to 1958. The primary work included building a new educational wing, to make more room for Regina’s early-childhood center. Based on strong results of a campaign planning study, Regina partnered with the Steier Group for the Pride in Our Past, Building Our Future Capital Campaign. This successful fundraising effort garnered a $1 million lead gift on the way to a total of $4.9 million. In addition to the capital campaign, the Steier Group collaborated with Regina on its annual appeal. The previous year had fallen short of goal. Despite concerns that the fundraising campaign would siphon away funds from the annual giving program, the 2017 appeal surpassed goal, thanks to methodical communication and a dual-request system.
In 2019, Regina revisited the campaign to finish fundraising for final projects and goals from their first effort. With a goal of $1.1 million, the Steier Group provided executive counsel and led the community again to reach well above goal.
