Archdiocese of San Antonio

The Archdiocese of San Antonio in Texas serves a growing metro area of 2.6 million people. Projections show that the archdiocese should expect an additional 200,000 Catholics to join the community over the next decade. With that in mind, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller and archdiocesan leadership chose to partner with the Steier Group for the On the Way – ¡Ándale! Capital Campaign. The campaign addressed current issues facing the archdiocese while also setting the community up for the future. Campaign goals included strengthening parishes, renovating Catholic schools, establishing new parishes, strengthening campus ministry, funding Catholic Charities outreach and more. The strategy to focus the campaign on building strong parishes gave it broad appeal. It was important to find ways for individual parishes to address their own needs, while also funding archdiocesan initiatives. The Steier Group and the archdiocese partnered to help parishes overcome campaign challenges by offering such assistance as tailored campaign support to key parishes, and alternative strategies to achieve goal. The firm and the archdiocese focused on providing clear and consistent communication including a parish-specific, full-color campaign brochure. This successful archdiocesan campaign has raised $60 million.
