Raising money for your organization is only part of a successful capital campaign effort. In order to further the organization’s mission with potential donors and with the community, your organization must implement a successful and comprehensive communications strategy.
The following tools are often used as primary communication vehicles:

• Case Statement
The following tools are some samples of secondary communication vehicles that are frequently utilized:
• Newsletter Articles
• Special Events
• Campaign Video/DVD
• Campaign posters/thermometers
• Speakers
• News releases and interviews with various media outlets
• Advertisements in pertinent publications
• Campaign correspondence, pledge cards, invitations, volunteer reports, etc.
• Website
• Tours
In order to maximize your opportunities for success, you must develop consistent, multiple “touches” with your audience over a defined period of time. It is imperative that your prospects are well-informed regarding the plans and vision of the effort. With a heightened awareness and understanding of the needs, prospects will be more motivated to support the effort with their time and financial support.
A well-planned and well-executed communications strategy done in concert with your fundraising effort will ensure that your organization is positioned for success.
