Part Two: Leadership Recruitment - The Importance of Recruiting an Effective Leadership Team
Volunteer leadership teams play an integral
role in the success of your capital campaign. Strong, committed
leaders offer nonprofit organizations immeasurable credibility
for their cause and campaign.
In recruiting a strong leadership team, it is important, as we
shared in last month’s Steier Tips, that the responsibilities
and expected level of involvement are communicated with the
potential leaders.
In recruiting campaign leaders, it is important to find leaders
who are willing to:
• Speak positively and passionately about the organization and
its mission.
• Make a personal gift to the effort.
• Assist in the identification and evaluation of donors.
• Solicit donors.
• Introduce and welcome new donors to be a part of the effort.
When successful and trustworthy civic, business and church leaders
are dedicated to an effort, it gains the support of others within
the community, while also raising its public profile and additional funds.
With committed leaders, your organization is one step closer to reaching its goal!
