Don't Vacation From Your Major Prospects
Often times, late summer presents a unique
opportunity to spend some quality time with your major givers.
Whether it’s school reunion or a holiday picnic, the waning days
of summer time can provide you with a chance to really do some
valuable cultivation during what is for many, the slowest time
of the year.
Many major donors fall under the category of "snow birds," which
can make them very inaccessible during a large part of the year.
However, these individuals often will return home for the summer
months to be with family and relax. When this opportunity presents
itself, consider the following:
• Invite prospects to your
facility for a tour and lunch.
• Host a major prospect
cocktail party in your new gathering space or where you hope to build it!
• Set up a visit to the donor's home just to say "thank you."
Whatever your plans are for the final months of summer, take
advantage of this time to further educate and cultivate
your major gift prospects. You'll be glad you did.
